Primary malignant neoplasms of the liver are classified as epithelial origin and mesenchymal origin. Most of all primary hepatic malignancy of the epithelial origin are hepatocelluar carcinoma and cholangiocarcinoma. In addition, there are many
less
many less common pathologies, such as hepatoblastoma, hepatic cystadenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, adenosquamous carcinoma. Adenosquamous carcinoma of the liver are extremely rare, and when they have been described they have originated
from
squamous metaplasia in a cholangiocarcinoma or from the lining of a developmental hepatic cyst.
Recently, authors experienced one case of adenosquamous carcinoma of the liver which was operated when impression of liver abscess with GB empyema by ultrasonography and CT findings occured. And we present a case of adenosquamous carcinoma of the
liver
and brief review of literature.
